A sewing machine (with a new, sharp needle), backing fabric (2.3 (3.2) metres at 1 metre wide), rotary cutter, mat
and ruler OR ruler, pins, scissors, sewing thread, batting (1.8 x 1.5 (1.6 x 2.25) metres), and a fabric marker
